Laura’s story

Laura’s adoption, reunion and sadness

I’d like you to meet Laura.  She and I originally met through a shared passion we have surrounding American sign language (ASL) which eventually led to us having a business relationship.

For the longest time I had no idea that Laura was adopted and truthfully don’t recall how I stumbled on it or how it came up in conversation.  But it soon became obvious that ASL was not only thing we had in common

I think that in watching this video, hearing her story, seeing her vulnerability and her willingness to open up about the pain you too will find a common ground.  Just being part of the Adoption triad in itself is common ground.  You may share something surrounding her search process or you too may have felt rejection, sadness and/or had a an outcome that didn’t bring you the answers you’d longed or hoped for.

If you would like to share your story please contact me.  I would be honored to chat with you further.

This is what Laura says about her video.  “During the holiday season I always feel a little sad because I have no family other than my husband and children. I often get sad seeing all the large family festivities posted on Facebook. This sadness triggered me to share my story of adoption, reunion and sadness. I know there are many people out there who have faced the same rejection. If you do a google search on ‘birth family rejection’ you will see a lot of people sharing their rejection stories. As hard as it is sometimes to talk about things like this I feel it’s important that we do. I think it’s important to share our similar hurts and rejections so we don’t feel so alone. “

Thank you Laura for allowing us all to share in your story!!
