Welcome to Char’s Jargon!

Welcome!  Thanks for checking out my blog and I’m thrilled you did!  Feel free to comment or just say hi anytime!

In this blog you’ll find musings about “all things mom” as well as life as I know it as an entrepreneur,  sister, friend, foodie, genealogist and other things that may pertain to my life and likely yours.

I decided to start blogging so that we can share our opinions and experiences.  I hope that you feel free to jump in and give your input as well ask questions along the way.

Please subscribe and post comments, I’d love to hear from you as well!

Life as I now know it is as a Certified Independent Sign Language Instructor and aside from being an entrepreneur I also work in an industry that services the culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing community. Over the years I volunteered at a local deaf school and in doing so I saw any deaf children with hearing parents and siblings, and noticed the need, and desire, for hearing parents to bridge the communication gap between themselves and their child.  It was when I saw the advanced communication of the hearing siblings that  I began to research why and how this came to be.  That is where my journey with American Sign Language began and has since completely taken off and taken over my life.  But there’s so much more to me that came before these experiences and have made me who I am.

As a dog lover I currently own 2 deaf Weimaraners that are constantly being trained in agility and we have so much fun doing so!  It’s such a great experience to see that their being deaf just doesn’t impede them at all.  I just think it’s so great how they can completely transition and are so eager to learn and please.  I would be remiss in not mentioning my old gal “Chelsea’ who passed a bit ago and was in part my muse for website surrounding signing with dogs.  Ironically enough though she’ wasn’t even deaf!  😉

As an educator I love what I do and am so fortunate to be able to offer the gift of communication to those that otherwise can not communicate through verbal language.  It’s such an honor to be able to worth not only those with communication barrier but also with parents and their little ones.  Who could have a bad days when it start off with those beautiful little faces!

I love life as I know it and in doing this blog I expect a journey of self discovery along the way and am thrilled to share it with you. …Hope you’ll follow along!

Cheers……

Charlene

Here you’ll find musings about my being an entrepreneur, a sister, a friend, genealogist and other things pertaining to life as a whole.

Chars Jargon began back in 2011 as a place to write down my thoughts on Adoption and my perspective as an adoptee, being self employed and that encompasses. The Blog soon became my safe place to share my journey and experiences in the adoption triad.  This same “safe place” became very overwhelming as I know all too well the opening of Pandoras Box that will take place.  But on my hiatus I have come to the conclusion that I am only doing a disservice and perpetuating the secrets behind adoption and my story by letting the intimidation factor take over.  I have been reminded that I am not responsible for another person’s doings, decisions or whereabouts; ergo “I am not my Brothers Keeper”.

From messages about others experiences and all things adoption related I hope to keep readers interested and inspired.  This blog is so we may share our opinions and experiences.  I hope that you feel free to jump in and give your input as well.
